Adam West reviews in Rockerilla (Italy) - July/August 2000
They're American, in love with Motor City's rock as well as with Motorhead and Kiss. Adam West are one of the most active band of the stars-and-stripes underground scene of the latest years.
Now the Spanish label Safety Pin releases another single of this Washington combo: "Yr Days Are Numbered, Motherfucker" and the better "Have Your Way With Me" are two rough hard-rock songs that tribute more than something to the masters of the past.
Even better they play in "SWLABR," the song included in the split--licensed by their own label Fandango Records--with Los Angeles' BellRays. In this number, Adam West move to garage-rock with a spectacular mid-tempo, a great guitar sound and a voice that seems to have found its best performance.
The BellRays play on the other side of this 7", covering an Australian punk-rock classic as "Nights In Venice" included in the first legendary Saints "I'm Stranded" album. Their version, not too different from the original, sounds vibrant and rough. The best way to cover one of the coolest songs written by Bailey-Kuepper.
