Bucket Review of Mondo Royale

It had to happen. Jake Starr finally puts out a CD. After making a bunch of 45's with his band DC's Adam West and his label Fandango,(not to be confused with Hollywood's Adam West or the LP by ZZ Top) this band's opus has arrived. Several versions of the band have flown the flag of independence from DC's typecasting scene in the four or so years of it's existence. Starr's vocals and stage presence have been a beacon to those not wanting to find refuge in the Dischord house. He's a saint. "Mondo Royale" is "Adam West... version Now!" hitting the hard rock sound as loud as it gets hit these days. "6 and 6 Is," the CD's opener, shows the singer not only as a bad math student but a jailbait junkie. "Electrified" has the band firing all cylinders and whooping the naughty right out. Is that the base of all great hoodlum metal? Holy Hairdoo,Batman! DC hasn't rocked this hard since JFK gave Marilyn a "grassy knoll" in the Oval Office! So go ahead make Jake's day... buy this disc... Go see Adam West live. "It's all good." Tell Jake and his band to keep up the good fight!
