Review of "Sizzleen" 7" in MaximumRocknRoll - July 2000
Adam West - "Sizzleen" 7"
Goddamn, I just wanna grab my crotch when I hear such macho hard rock slop. It reeks of sweaty guys, crammed in a van, drinking and joking/bragging about women, like some moldy locker room on wheels. Take the best and worst of 70s giants like Ted Nugent or Mountain, throw in a weak Black Sabbath cover, and you get the idea. These folks have been around a while, and this kind of release just goes to show what happened to some of the DC punk alumni who didn't go on to form Fugazi or Lungfish. Oh yeah, for what it's worth, "Sizzleen" actually kinda works, in a blustering cartoon rock parody sort of way.
