Preview of 11/29/98 Metro Cafe show
Shows You Would Hate to Miss!
Sunday, November 29, ADAM WEST at Metro Cafe (1522 14th St. NW,
202-588-9118). Another Wammie winning act takes it to the stage to
celebrate their award. Adam West won Best Duo/Group in the heavy metal/hard
rock category. And I think they truly are. They are hard, they're fast,
they tight as hell and they rock out the jams big time. The songs don't
forego melody, they just couch it in a guitar grinding, bass flailing, drums
ripping sound that cuts like a knife but never loses its focus or control.
These are seasoned players and they've put plenty of work over recent years
into honing their hard rock edge. Opening are DC's Dog Fashion Disco and
the Stump Wizards from Harrisburg, PA. Adam West's comment on this show,
³Come on out - rock for a change.² The Adam West/Candy Snatchers split 7" is
selling fast. The band pressed 510 with 123 on marble wax. The Adam West
side has a special mix of "Vanilla," a tune that will end up on their
upcoming CD called "13 de luxe." Visit the Adam West web site for
more info.
