Review of "Beauty" 7" in Crypt-O-Rama Fanzine - Winter 96/97
ADAM WEST / BUBBLEGUM CHRIST Split 7" ep
Adam West, from Washington DC, open this slab of vinyl with "Beauty", a killer track mixing influences from Stooges, MC5, Misfits and 60s garage punk and pushing them into hard rock / punk territory. With hard edged guitars and deep, strong vocals, they put enough of a 90s spin into their retro style to make it authentic and worth listening to from a wider audience. Bubblegum Christ, on side B, play two fast hard-core / punk tunes, so their style is out of the scope of this zine.
