Review of Adam West "Longshot Songs For Broke Players" CD in Degeneration Overdrive #4 - December 2006

Adam West "Longshot Songs For Broke Players 2001-2004" (People Like You Records)
Being a fan of the mighty Adam West can be a little demanding at times cuz if you're like me and can't seem to get around collecting all their releases from around the world, then the good people at People Like You are there to help you along the way. This release follows the Ready Steady Adam West 1993-99 and Hi-Balls Are Rolling 1999-2001 series that document all their hard-to-find 7" and compilation contributions. This goes way beyond my expectations, reqrouping itself amazingly well as an album with a great number of songs I would call amongst their best, side by side with blistering renditions of songs by bands like Kiss, Hellacopters and the Misfits to name a few. Rock-n-Roll with balls! Faves: "We've Got Cake," "Sixth Son of a Seventh Son," "I Stole Your Love," "Ferrytale," "Thora's Hammer," "Christmas with the Devil" (tell me the Skynyrd end solo doesn't make you smile) are top notch!
