Review of "Right On!" CD in Metal Hammer - November 2001

Adam West "Right On!" CD
(People Like You Records)

Fronted by testosterone overdose victim Jake Starr -- part Glenn Danzig/Rollins rock and roll macho man, part jailhouse 'daddy' who wants to make you his 'lil' girly' -- DC-based garage punks Adam West are fighting a guerilla war for the trash aesthetic. Title like "C'mon And Bludgeon Me," "Flower, Fist and Bestial Wail," and "Piece of Ass" are all terribly ironic, of course, and they probably don't spend their spare time in bar room knife fights. But if you can live with their inauthenticity, their Stooges/KISS/yet more Stooges is more agreeable enough, though whether this is sufficient to lift them from the world of local DC shows, poverty tours on punk packages and enthusiastic fanzine reviews is moot. . . . (6 outta 10)
